Numerous operational areas in tourism also offer immense opportunities for entrepreneurs to establish their own business – big or small. Yet Tourism Studies as an academic discipline is not very well developed. Opportunities for its study are also limited. A large number of the work force has had no formal study in various aspects of tourism. These people are scattered all over the country, may not have access to institutions offering only limited number of seats in tourism courses. Hence, these programmes have been developed keeping in mind people who in future intend to make their career in some branch of tourism, or are already working in tourism related areas at various levels.

Category 1: BTS; BA (Tourism); B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration (BHM); Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (approved by AICTE) and those students who have done their Graduation in any filed along with a Diploma in Tourism, which is recognized in the University system or by AICTE.Total Programme Fee for Category I is Rs. 14,200 ( to be paid year wise @Rs. 7,100/- per year).
Category 2: Bachelor’s Degree in any field. However, all students of category 2 will have to pass four additional courses during their period of study. Total Programme Fees for Category II is Rs. 17,200 (to be paid @Rs. 10,100/- for First Year and Rs. 7,100 for Second Year).

The programme is for creating a dedicated and skilled workforce in the Travel and Tourism Sector. The people working in the tourism sector, self-employed, other adults who wish to upgrade their educational qualification and knowledge in the tourism sector will be benefitted with this programme. The programme will provide University level education in new fields of knowledge and niche areas which fulfil the demands of employment and economy of the country.
